William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship for Nursing

The William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship for Nursing was established to aid minority students in the School of Nursing with documented financial need. Greater financial need will have greater weight in terms of eligibility.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student at the University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences with a declared major in Nursing
  • Have a 3.5 or greater cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Barry University Office of Financial Aid and based on the FAFSA form completion and review
  • Submit an essay (300 to 450 words) describing why nursing is being selected as a major field of study
  • If a student is a citizen or resident of a foreign country, provide a statement of intent to permanently reside in the United States of America after completion of his/her studies

NOTE: Preference will be given to minority students in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences that meet all the other criteria
