Dwight Lauderdale Scholarship

The Dwight Lauderdale Scholarship was established as a merit-based and need-based annual scholarship to encourage motivated, outgoing, community service-minded Barry University student leaders. This scholarship is awarded in recipients’ sophomore, junior or senior year.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time undergraduate student at the University
  • Be pursuing a major in the Department of Communications
  • Have a 3.0 or greater cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Barry University Office of Financial Aid and based on the FAFSA form completion and review

NOTE: Preference shall be given to applicants who are:

  • Broadcast Communication majors or students minoring in Journalism
  • Documented involvement in community service attesting to the well-roundedness of the candidate
