Dr. Marie-France Desrosiers Memorial Endowed Psychology Scholarship

The. Marie-France Desrosiers Memorial Endowed Psychology Scholarship was established to assist undergraduate and graduate students of academic merit in the Barry University Psychology Department. Funds for this scholarship are disbursed in the recipients’ undergraduate junior or senior year, or graduate studies.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently enrolled at the University as a full-time undergraduate sophomore or junior or an undergraduate senior intending to enter a graduate program the following year
  • Be pursuing a major in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Psychology
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 with a minimum 3.0 GPA in major course work
  • Must be an active participant in a community based organization
  • Must submit two (2) recommendations, one of which must come from a Barry University professor and one from a leader within a community based organization in which the student is involved
  • Present a short report to the major donors on how he/she is benefitting from the scholarship
  • Submit a 750-word essay on what the student hopes to accomplish upon graduating from Barry

NOTE: Preference will be given to students of African heritage, preferably a student of Haitian origin or descent
